Leslie Wheelin


Biography

Ms. Wheelin has over a decade of experience litigating matters throughout Connecticut and New York, and concentrates her practice on medical malpractice defense. She has dedicated a significant portion of her legal career to the representation of hospitals, long-term care facilities, physicians, psychiatrists, nurses and other health care personnel. Her experience includes defending lawsuits claiming wrongful death and permanent injury in the context of various medical disciplines, including obstetrics, radiology, cardiology, oncology, infectious disease and geriatric medicine. Ms. Wheelin has additionally served as coverage and monitoring counsel, on a national level, for insurers of long-term care facilities. She has lectured and written on risk management, and provided in-service training to medical professionals on issues affecting professional liability.

Prior to joining the firm, Ms. Wheelin practiced for mid-sized and large multistate law firms. In addition to handling the defense of medical malpractice and long-term care matters, she defended a wide range of lawsuits on behalf of pharmaceutical companies, municipalities, housing authorities, commercial property owners, developers, construction companies and other business entities.
