Biography

Mr. Young is Of Counsel to the firm and practices civil litigation defense, with an emphasis on insurance defense and complex litigation. Prior to joining the firm, he was a partner at a Connecticut litigation firm where his areas of practice primarily included the defense of automobile, premises liability, and uninsured/under-insured motorist lawsuits. His practice also included the representation of individuals and entities in commercial litigation, construction claims, professional liability, product liability, bad faith and unfair trade/insurance practices. He would also be retained by individuals and insurers to conduct coverage and risk analysis.

Mr. Young has defended products liability claims involving exposure to carbon monoxide, asbestos and flammable conditions, as well as losses caused by boilers, medical devices, and household appliances. He has defended clients against cases sounding in slander and defamation and obtained dismissal under Connecticut’s anti-SLAPP statute. He has extensive experience defending dog owners/keepers against negligence, strict liability and prejudgment remedy claims and successfully handled three of these cases through trial. He was regularly retained to represent individuals with personal exposure either by way of limited insurance or uncovered causes of action.

Mr. Young has extensive trial experience, having tried numerous cases to verdict in courts throughout the state. He has participated in various forms of alternative dispute resolution including mock jury trials, mediations and arbitrations and has handled appeals to the Connecticut Appellate Court. He is an Associate of the American Board of Trial Advocates (ABOTA).
In addition to his litigation practice, he has developed a strong focus on sustainability and climate risk. He has completed advanced coursework and certifications in ESG, sustainable business strategy, and environmental challenges through institutions including Berkely Law, MIT, and the University of Oxford. His work in this area centers on the intersection of legal risk, corporate responsibility, and emerging regulatory frameworks impacting businesses and insurers.

Mr. Young is also the founder of One Touch, an initiative that reflects his longstanding interest in soccer and its potential as a platform for promoting sustainability. Through this initiative, he seeks to highlight practical environmental solutions, foster stakeholder engagement, and explore how sport can serve as a vehicle for advancing sustainable practices at both the local and global level.
